"I was getting ready to tape our program, The Hour of Healing, a few days ago when the Lord spoke to me. he told me that at the beginning of 2006—when ORU classes are beginning again—I am to do a one-week TV telethon to raise scholarship funds for students to attend ORU.

I immediately replied, 'Yes, Sir, I'll do it!' So I'm writing to let you know that throughout the week of January 9, my focus on The Hour of Healing will be on scholarshipping students.

The Lord told me to ask our friends and partners to plant a seed-faith gift of $100 or more to help students attend ORU, who would not be able to otherwise. I'm asking you to make this a matter of prayer, and to watch next week. We will be joined throughout the week by various special guests. You won't want to miss it! As the Lord leads you, please be prepared to call in a seed-faith gift on your credit card as a part of this one-week scholarship drive. (You may also give online at www.orm.cc.

Thank you for your prayers and support for this ORU Scholarship project. I really appreciate it. And as you give from your heart, I join my faith with yours for God to multiply your seed back to you in a harvest of miracles.

ON DOCTRINE NOTE:
Finally, directly from God comes the teaching about seed-faith giving, "The Lord told me to ask our friends and partners to plant a seed-faith gift of $100 or more . . ." Having originally left the teaching out of the Scripture, God finally rectified the omission almost two thousand years after the last book of the Bible was written, by giving Richard Roberts the straight teaching on the issue and even using the term that Oral Roberts coined, "Seed Faith".

Of course, Richard Roberts is not attempting to give the slightest hint that "our friends and partners" are those associated with God and Richard Roberts and failure to give the $100 stated by God might mean that a person is not a friend of God. However, it is apparent that Seed Faith giving by "friends and partners" begins with $100 and goes up from there. None of those $10 and $20 pledges, because they just don't count in God's view. If all a person can give is $5, $10, $20 or $50, then they should not expect any miracles or 100-fold returns on their gift because God demands more.

So, just like his father, Oral Roberts, did before him, Richard Roberts claims a special revelation from God regarding finances to support his project, and guess who gets to pay the bill? How many other qualified Christian colleges and universities received a revelation from God telling them to broadcast their own telethons? Well, they just didn't qualify because only an approved and anointed university qualified, God's University (GU), the one specified to which scholarship money must be sent, which is Oral Roberts University. Richard Roberts said that God spoke, so it must be true.
